Faggot, queer, poof, brown hatter, pillow biter etc etc.
How many men out there say these words, either as a derogatory term towards gay men, or as a term of abuse to someone they really dislike?
How many men would fight just for having been called one of those terms, to preserve their "manhood"?
And of those "men" who carry on like this, how many describe lesbians in those same derogatory terms? (Unless they are filthy, feminist, ugly, unshaven lezzos)
Throughout history, the world has been divided on how to deal with gay men.
Moses told his troops that man laying with man was an abomination, while Jesus taught that gay is okay (Luke 17:34)
Oscar Wilde was sent to jail for it and now we make tv programs where gayness has become synonymous with humorous.
Because I am a bit of a funny bugger and have a penchant for wearing pink shirts, ties and socks I have had several people over the years question both my sexuality and my manhood thanks to wearing pink. My only response ever has been to laugh, since I dont believe manhood and sexuality are linked in any way if you disagree, go and call Ian Roberts a poof and see where you end up. He may be gay, but he is all man.
Secondly, while I am not gay, I hardly consider it an insult to be called gay. Some of the nicest and most caring people I know are gay.
Many parents are devastated when one of their children "comes out" and declares that they play for the other team. Why? I would be devastated if one of my kids came home and told me they had become christian, but being gay, sure! I know cases where kids have been forgiven actual crimes before that of being gay. Fortunately, I believe these are in the severe minority.
Another hilarious sideline to the gay question is prison. I bet you if you were to go to any high security section inmate and accuse him of being gay, he would kill you. Yet this same man will think nothing of anally raping a man in a gay sex attack while in prison, or having a gay relationship with "his bitch".
Over the last twenty years, attitudes in public have changed and the law tells us that it is illegal to be discriminatory toward gay men, but in the minds of a majority of men worldwide, it is something which is seen to be dirty and disgusting with the perpetrators good for only ridicule and abuse.
Why is this?
Homophobes are shit scared that if they don't ridicule gays they may end up trying it themselves, so by taking a vehement anti-gay stance they will convince themselves that they are "all Male"
Yet strangely, these guys are the same ones who seek anal sex with women. (It is fact that anal sex is the most frequently sought form of sex from prostitutes. Men partaking of this service are almost always in a long-term relationship with a woman) To my way of thinking, a rectum is a rectum and anal sex with a woman is no different from a man. (If you can find a pretty tranny, they would both look the same from behind too)
It seems that at schools, being called gay is still the ultimate insult too. Surely children aged 8-12 can only pick this attitude up from their parents.
My message to gay bashers, fundamental christians and homophobes is very simple.
You are the sick ones. There is nothing wrong with being attracted to people of the same sex. A persons sexual orientation tells you as much about a person as does their shoe size.
Gays are just people like everyone else, although I do feel that maybe the average gay man is somewhat more intelligent, sincere and caring than the average non-gay man.
No wonder they are disliked .
