Herald of 1 November
2008
As one who has voted Labour the past
three elections, I am interested that Helen Clark has admitted defeat so
long before vote counting has finished.
The Herald reliably reported on Helen
Clark's announcement of the new redundancy payout when the question of
"rich" people getting the two grand came up, and the reply came, "It's a
moot point whether they would risk going down to the local Work and
Income office, I'm sure."
Risk? There is risk involved in a wealthy
person going to a WINZ office?
Sure, there can be no clearer admission of
defeat than baldly stating that after nine years of one's own management
that it is dangerous for a rich person to go into a WINZ office.
