Sylus

Sylus has been part of our family now for 10 years.  When we first started sponsoring Sylus he was a little boy, aged 5, who did not have access to sufficient food, clean water or regular medical care and lived in poverty and an inadequate dwelling.  You can see from the photos below what difference $1 a day can make.  He has grown and matured into a healthy, strong and good-looking young man with a good education and a chance to make a life for himself and his future wife and children.

Over the years we have received so many wonderful gifts, all hand-made by Sylus, including christmas cards, little trinkets and a beautiful necklace.  We have also received regular school reports, updates on the project that Sylus is enrolled in, letters written by Sylus or other members of his family and of course photos.

Sylus is a hard working young man who is extremely good at football, dancing and is also a choir member at school.  He owns cattle and now has his own crops to harvest.  He also speaks THREE languages (English, Kiswahili & Luo).

We can't describe the feeling of pleasure and achievement that comes with receiving these packages but we can tell you, it's a great feeling.
