Well, at long last, something new!

Having had to replace people who had died during their guarantee period, having dealt with people having an emotional crisis and needing to return to South Africa the same morning they'd started their brand new job, I thought I'd seen and heard it all.

But no - a brand new surprise springs into contention.

A recent placement has quit her job because she can earn the same money on the benefit as she can at work!

If that doesn't tell you that the system in this country is corrupt, then nothing will.

This is a true story.

The world watches anxiously as the economy of USA tries to implode. At the same time, ANZ Bank is calling for voluntary redundancies and the consensus of economists is that the economy will shrink for three of the four quarters for fiscal year to 31/3/09.

Where's the good news?

All over the place!

Some companies are weathering the downturn better than others, and some are growing quickly. We've also jumped on the Southland bandwagon with our Invercargill/Southland vacancies.

If your employer is in doubt, talk to us to find a more stable employer.

A month later, and where are we?

The market remain as expected - lots of candidates, and good companies going well. Fortunately, pretty near all of our customers are seeing their businesses going very well.

Infrastructure continues to appeal for more staff, with civil engineers in huge demand and structural engineers near impossible to find. Remember, if you find us one who gets a job through us, we pay you $500 cash! ( or + GST if you're an immigration consultant with suitable people )
